The people, the goals
and the targets.

Nuclivia is two founders, the doctoral research it starts from, and a plan with numbers attached. This page sets out each of them.

The founders.

Vivek Newar

Founder · Science and commercial

LinkedIn

Doctoral researcher in nutrigenetics, leading Nuclivia’s science and commercial work.

Vivek is the founder of Nuclivia. The company grew out of his doctoral research in nutrigenetics, which is still in progress.

That research studies the FTO rs9939609 variant alongside diet, physical activity and body composition in Northeast India, and is developing a food frequency questionnaire adapted to the region’s diets. It is Nuclivia’s scientific starting point and the source of the regional food data behind its diet engine.

He leads the science — the gene panel, the evidence tiers and the final review of every claim Nuclivia makes — and the commercial side. Operations are run jointly with Ethan.

At Nuclivia

Co-founder · Technology and operations

LinkedIn

Leads Nuclivia’s technology and, jointly with Vivek, its operations.

Ethan is Nuclivia’s co-founder. He leads technology and shares the running of operations with Vivek.

Technology at Nuclivia means the website, the customer portal and app, and the data architecture underneath them — including the separation of personal identity from genetic and health data that Nuclivia’s privacy promises depend on.

Operations means the path a sample takes: kit, courier, lab, quality control and the time it takes to reach a report.

The research underneath.

Nuclivia starts from Vivek’s doctoral research in nutrigenetics, which is still in progress. This is what it contributes.

The FTO rs9939609 protocol
The scientific starting point, and the first framework for reading genotype risk.
A food frequency questionnaire adapted to Northeast Indian diets
The regional food data behind the diet engine — the foods generic databases miss.
Eating-behaviour measurement
Separates restraint, uncontrolled eating and emotional eating.
One dataset linking genotype, diet and body composition
The data architecture the product is built on.
A publication plan
Planned papers on the questionnaire’s validation, the FTO association and gene–diet interaction.

The boundary. The research is cross-sectional. It supports association, interaction and risk profiling — not claims of cause or cure — and Nuclivia’s reports are written to that boundary.

What we are aiming at.

Genetics opens the conversation. The outcome comes from diet, activity, body composition, behaviour and follow-up.

The 12-month test. By month 12, a working product — not just a report. Order flow, lab workflow, counselling, follow-up and outcomes that can be measured.

  1. Days 0–30

    Scientific freeze

    • Final SNP panel, evidence tiers and interpretation boundaries
    • Consent, privacy, data retention and the medical disclaimer
    • Lab partner agreed: procedures, turnaround, quality control and retest policy
    • Customer journey, report design and counselling procedure
  2. Days 31–90

    Build and pilot

    • A 2 to 5 SNP panel with a validated lab process
    • Diet, eating-behaviour, lifestyle and medical-history questionnaires
    • Report and 30-minute counselling procedure in beta
    • 20 to 50 pilot participants, closely supervised, measured at baseline and 30 days

The rule before moving on: Do not scale before report quality, lab quality control, counselling consistency and customer comprehension are proven.

  3. Months 3–6

    Launch

    • Website, customer portal, and clear sample and consent flows
    • Kit, courier and turnaround tracking, with a refund and retest policy
    • Monthly quality review: call rate, failed samples, turnaround, complaints
    • Partnerships with clinics and coaches
  4. Months 6–18

    Scale, carefully

    • New genes added only after evidence review, lab validation and a counselling script
    • A 90-day prevention programme with nutrition, activity and body-composition check-ins
    • Work with employers, gyms, clinics and academic collaborators
    • Publish the diet-questionnaire validation, FTO association and gene–diet interaction research

The numbers we hold
ourselves to.

Quality commitments from the 12-month plan, measured at month 3 and month 6. These are targets, not reported results.

Quality targets at month 3 and month 6 of the 12-month plan
MeasureMonth 3Month 6
Genotype call rateShare of genetic results the lab can read clearly≥ 95%≥ 97%
Failed samples and retestsSamples that fail and have to be collected again< 8%< 5%
Sample to reportFrom the lab receiving a sample to the report being ready≤ 14 days≤ 10 days
Report comprehensionHow well people understand their own report≥ 80%≥ 85%
Counselling completedShare of people who complete their counselling session≥ 70%≥ 80%
30-day follow-up completedShare of people who complete the 30-day follow-up≥ 40%≥ 55%
Refunds and complaintsShare of people asking for a refund or raising a complaint< 10%< 5%

If lab quality, report comprehension and follow-up are weak, scaling marketing will only scale dissatisfaction.

Join the pilot list.

The pilot will be small, closely supervised and followed up. We'll write to you before bookings open — with the price, and what the pilot asks of you.

A sentence is plenty. Please don’t include health details — those belong in a consultation.
